He served as an Orthopedic specialist in Moh, Sabiya(Gizan) in Saudi for an year and before that, was a senior consultant in Department Of Orthopedics, Spine and Joint replacement at 120 bedded Primus International Super specialty Hospital in Nigeria. He was also Medical director and chief of Orthopedics at 125 bedded MGS Hospital located at Punjabi Bagh, Delhi.

Dr. Verma has experience in managing and assisting senior doctors and observing IPD patients. Dr. M C Verma has worked at B.M.S hospital has given him exposure on handling patients and working in stressful environments. Before that Dr. Vijay was a senior resident at AIIMS Delhi and also served as an in-house surgeon at the department of the intensive cardiac unit at, Pt B.D Sharma PGIMS, Rohtak, Haryana. He is also associated with Healthy aging India NGO working on a nationwide awareness campaign and resolving problems by creating a chain of awareness among people regarding the unmet needs of older people.

After hanging uniform as Prof & HOD, Rheumatology & Clinical Immunology at Army Hospital Research Referral Delhi Cantt, and as DG Medical services of Indian Army; he joined as senior consultant Rheumatology in Sir Gangaram Hospital, New Delhi. He is the first rheumatologist in the country to establish medical arthroscopy for rheumatologists, and also the first one to use Infliximab in polyarticular juvenile arthritis. He is the recipient of various prestigious awards and medals such as Param Vishist sewa medal, vishist sewa medal. He has also been awarded with (lifetime achievement award) MN PASSEY AWARD by Indian rheumatology association. .

After Post Graduation in Physics from Lucknow University,Shri Atul Chaturvediji taught Post Graduate classes for one and a half years before joining IAS in 1974.Started career in the Revenue Administration and served in different capacities including District Magistrate.Thereafter,served in many capacities in Government of Uttar Pradesh.During 1986-89 worked as Deputy Secretary/Director in the Ministry of Commerce GOI.During 1989-92 was posted at Permanent Mission of India (WTO),Geneva,where he was in charge of Multilateral Trade Negotiations leading to establishment of WTO.From 1992 onwards served as Secretary,Government of Uttar Pradesh in various departments i.e.Industries,Education,Energy,Labour &Employment,Cooperative and Medical Education.       In 2000,joined as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Textile,GOI and was India's Chief Textile Negotiator.Worked as Additional Secretary and Financial Adviser in the Ministry of Rural Development;Secretary,Department of Fertiliser,and Secretary,Ministry of Steel.After retirement in 2010 joined as Member PESB and and completed my tenure as Chairman PESB in 2015.After retirement worked as Advisor with McKinsey for three years. At present Chairman Institute of Peace and Conflict Studies (IPCS), NewDelhi.
